[Forum Background]:
2015 is destined to be an extraordinary year. Major adjustments to the domestic energy structure, reforms in natural gas prices, the introduction of the new Environmental Protection Law, and a series of major changes in the 13th Five-Year Plan are quietly taking place. At the same time, the country has introduced a new subsidy policy for shale gas, and shale gas, as an unconventional clean energy, will also usher in new opportunities and challenges. At present, the development momentum of domestic shale gas has not weakened with the decline in oil and gas prices. On the contrary, it has blossomed all over the country. Among them, the proposal to establish a national shale gas comprehensive development pilot zone in Sichuan and Chongqing provinces has been supported by the Ministry of Land and Resources and the National Development and Reform Commission. Chongqing City took the lead in starting construction. Sichuan Province is also carrying out preliminary preparations. With the recent completion of the shale gas export pipelines in Sichuan and Chongqing, the future prospects for shale gas commercial development in Sichuan and Chongqing may become broader.
The progress of the third round of bidding for shale gas in China; the development of the blocks in the first two rounds of bidding; the economic feasibility and prospects of shale gas development in the southwest region; the degree of perfection of the current domestic supporting technical equipment; how to reduce costs and increase efficiency in shale gas development at the level of existing technical equipment, and the transformation of shale gas development mode after the introduction of the new "Environmental Protection Law" will be answered one by one at the Fifth China Shale Gas Development Forum. This forum will invite relevant leaders from the Ministry of Land and Resources, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the National Energy Administration to comprehensively interpret China's latest shale gas policies, new regulations, subsidies, and support measures for industry companies. At the same time, this forum will also invite authoritative experts in the industry, academicians of the two academies, and well-known domestic and foreign technology companies, engineering companies, and front-line managers of hot shale gas blocks in China to share the development experience of shale gas blocks such as Fuling, Changning, Weiyuan, and Zhaotong. In addition, engineering companies, technical service companies, equipment manufacturing companies serving the domestic shale gas industry, North American shale gas development companies, Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Shell and other international big companies will also be invited and send representatives to participate. They will bring the latest shale gas technology and development and management experience. This forum will focus on the theme of "Southwest shale gas development enters a great era", create more cooperation and development opportunities, and promote the development of China's shale gas industry.
